Greater Portland Health is seeking a Program Coordinator – Optometry to provide administrative support to the optometry department, ensuring smooth patient flow. You will assist with program development, implementation, and daily operations, coordinating with clinicians and staff.

The role is on-site in Portland, ME, with a focus on office efficiency, records management, and collaboration with internal teams to support high-quality eye care.

Qualifications

• Level 3 English is required.
• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Associate degree or bachelor’s degree is preferred.
• Experience in a medical/optometry office, hospital, or medical setting is preferred.
• Experience with health insurance plans, medical terminology, and health care regulations is preferred.
• Experience with electronic medical records, Microsoft Word and Excel is preferred.
• An active and unexpired driver’s license is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide administrative support to the optometry department to ensure seamless patient care.
• Support development, implementation, and daily coordination of assigned programs.
• Organize processes and systems and maintain collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders and partners.
• Serve as a secondary driver for the Mobile Medical Unit.
