Job summary

AEG is seeking an Optometric Technician to support Optometrists with pre-exam testing, diagnostic procedures, and patient education. You will help ensure efficient, high-quality patient experiences from arrival to exit.

The role involves performing preliminary evaluations, assisting with tests, managing schedules, and maintaining detailed patient records in a compliant, patient-centered environment.

Qualifications

• Experience evaluating patients for eye exams and dispensing eye exam medications.
• Familiarity with medical terms associated with eye treatment.
• Industry certification (CPO, CPOA, CPOT).

Responsibilities

• Perform preliminary evaluations of patients prior to exam by the Optometrist.
• Assist with specialty diagnostic testing and post-exam tasks.
• Manage the doctor’s appointment schedule and rescheduling as needed.
• Record and maintain patient records in compliance with HIPAA.
• Respond to patient inquiries regarding medications and treatments.
• May perform diagnostic testing using specialty equipment (OCT, Visual Field, Pachymetry, Retinal Camera).
• Duties related to documentation in EHR and medical clerical tasks.
