Job summary

The J.M. Smucker Co. invites you to join the Summer 2027 Operations Engineering Internship in New Orleans.

You will work with plant technicians and engineers to learn manufacturing processes, identify improvement opportunities, and manage projects from scope through verification. On-site, 100% in-person, this role offers a compensation range of $22.00–$27.00 per hour plus a housing stipend. You will document results, prepare standard reports, and collaborate with hourly and salaried staff to

Qualifications

• Pursuing engineering degree (Mech, Electrical, Chemical or Industrial).
• Strong data collection and analytical skills.
• Ability to work in office and plant and follow safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with manufacturing technicians on the plant floor to develop process improvement areas and understand manufacturing processes.
• Coordinate activities of contractors, hourly technicians, and other resources.
• Prepare standard reports and documentation to communicate results.
• Manage projects holistically from scope development, capital appropriation, implementation, commissioning, and verification.
• Collect, analyze, and utilize data to execute improvements while interfacing with salaried employees and technicians to deliver effective initiatives.
