Job summary

Charles Schwab is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer to protect stability and performance of the Order Management System. The role emphasizes rapid incident restoration and cross-functional collaboration across engineering, infrastructure, and vendors.

As a senior team member, you will mentor engineers, shape operational best practices, and pursue automation, observability, and continuous improvement to reduce incident recurrence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in CS/Engineering/IT.
• 5+ years in Production Support, SRE, software operations, or related role.
• Strong troubleshooting of Java-based distributed apps and SQL-backed systems.
• Experience with monitoring/observability tools: AppDynamics, Splunk, Grafana, InfluxDB, Control-M.

Responsibilities

• Protect stability, performance, and resiliency of Schwab’s Order Management System.
• Respond to and resolve production incidents; drive rapid restoration of services.
• Lead incident response and mentor others in production support practices.
• Collaborate with engineering, infrastructure, databases, and vendors to reduce incidents.
