Job summary

Axiom Technologies is seeking a Network Hands & Feet Support Technician to provide on-site, physical support for network and data center infrastructure in the St. Louis area.

You will act as the on-site “remote hands” for network, server, and IT operations teams by performing installations, troubleshooting, maintenance, and basic diagnostics under remote guidance. The role includes installing, relocating, and removing equipment; rack-and-stack; cabling; basic testing; and documenting work.

Qualifications

• On-site network and data center support experience.
• Capable of installing, relocating and removing equipment in a data center environment.
• Ability to follow change management and security policies.

Responsibilities

• Perform physical installation, relocation, and removal of network and server equipment (routers, switches, firewalls, servers).
• Rack, stack, cable, and label network and server hardware.
• Connect and disconnect network, power, and fiber cables as instructed.
• Assist remote engineers with troubleshooting by checking link lights, reseating cables, rebooting devices, and verifying connections.
• Replace failed hardware components (NICs, power supplies, cables, disks) following standard procedures.
• Conduct visual inspections and report hardware issues or alarms.
• Perform basic network testing (ping tests, cable continuity checks).
• Maintain accurate documentation of work performed, including photos when required.
• Escort vendors and ensure compliance with data center security policies.
• Follow change management, safety, and escalation procedures.
• Provide after-hours or on-call support as required.
