Job summary

SCALIS is seeking a Business Service Technician to deliver on-site engineering support for enterprise and small-business clients. You will diagnose and repair broadband issues across Ethernet-over-Copper, Coax, and Fiber, while maintaining professional client interactions.

Responsibilities include on-site diagnostics, physical layer maintenance, CPE management, network configuration, and ensuring SLAs through QA tests. A valid driver's license and ability to lift 50 lbs are expected.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of Ethernet and fiber optic technologies (GPON, Active Ethernet).
• Experience configuring enterprise networking gear via CLI (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
• Hands-on field repair and on-site diagnostics with network equipment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in server rooms / IDF/MDF spaces.

Responsibilities

• On-site diagnostics and repair of outages or performance issues.
• Repair or replace damaged cabling and perform fiber splicing; verify signal integrity.
• Install, re-configure and troubleshoot CPE including Managed Routers, NID, IAD, ONT.
• Configure VLAN tagging, IP assignments, and routing protocols with NOC.
• Navigate server rooms and spaces to extend demarcations or optimize placement.
• Conduct speed tests and latency measurements to meet SLAs.
