Job summary

West Virginia University is seeking an On-Site Network Analyst to install and configure networking hardware, troubleshoot issues, and monitor performance for WVU's campus network in Morgantown, WV.

Responsibilities include maintenance, documentation, and remote support as needed; preferred CCNA or higher and knowledge of Cisco/Juniper/Palo Alto gear. A hands-on, team-oriented approach is required.

Qualifications

• Basic understanding of networking concepts: TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, VPN, etc.
• Experience with installing/configuring routers, switches, and wireless access points.
• Willingness to follow instructions and work in a team environment.
• CCNA or higher and network security knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install and configure networking hardware (routers, switches, access points) per guidelines.
• Troubleshoot connectivity, outages, and performance issues; perform routine maintenance.
• Monitor network performance and provide first-level end-user support.
• Maintain network device inventory, documentation, and change records.
• Assist in implementing basic network security measures and policies.
• Provide remote support to end users and remote offices.
• Engage in training to stay current with networking tech.
