Job summary

Ferguson Industrial has an opening for a Buyer Associate on site with a team at our customer location in La Porte, IN. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and helps drive procurement improvements while supporting warehouse activities as needed.

Responsibilities include monitoring inventory, managing shortages, negotiating contracts, drafting reports, and ensuring accurate PO processing.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a buyer role preferred.
• GMP experience preferred.
• Follow documented procedures.
• Knowledge of MRO products is preferred.
• Detail oriented with high accuracy and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform a range of procurement activities.
• Monitor inventory and manage product shortages.
• Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and internal departments.
• Lead negotiations of contracts and discounts.
• Draft procurement reports and analyze inventory usage.
• Expedite orders and reconcile payable discrepancies.
• Manage freight billing and audit processes.
• Enter and edit purchase orders and blanket releases.
• Ensure product file integrity and maintain supplier relations.
• Assist in warehouse duties as needed.
