Ferguson Enterprises, LLC in La Porte, Texas is seeking a Purchasing Agent BU 3281 to support site inventory by purchasing materials and managing vendor relationships to meet service level goals. The role emphasizes project management and cross-functional collaboration with regional teams.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of purchasing experience, a bachelor’s degree or equivalent, and strong communication and MS Office skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
• 3+ years of purchasing or buying experience, especially supporting a region or multiple stores.
• Ability to adapt and change processes to keep pace with evolving business requirements.
• Outstanding interpersonal and leadership skills to respond to urgent situations.
• Must be process oriented with good judgment and decision-making abilities.
• Strong technical skills including Microsoft O365 applications.

Responsibilities

• Work on Ferguson site for remote client access.
• Compile and maintain information and records to prepare purchase orders.
• Contact vendors for quotations and maintain key relationships.
• Manage file maintenance for products bought from vendors, including pricing.
• Manage system settings governing buy quantities to meet goals for inventory and service levels.
• Collaborate with customers to address purchasing questions or issues.
• Provide direction and mentorship to less experienced team members.
• Follow safety standards and policies to protect colleagues.
• Deliver high levels of customer service when working with internal customers.
