Job summary

Interstate Earthworks, LLC is seeking a Mine Heavy Equipment Operator to join our on-site team in San Antonio, TX. You will operate bulldozers, loaders, excavators, and haul trucks to support sand mining operations and ensure safe, efficient material handling.

You will inspect equipment daily, report safety or maintenance issues, and assist with stockpiling, loading, and transport within the mine. Proactive safety participation and adherence to PPE standards are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years operating heavy equipment in a mining, construction, or similar environment.
• Familiarity with sand mining operations is a plus.
• Proficient in operating multiple types of heavy machinery.
• Strong understanding of mine safety regulations and equipment maintenance.
• MSHA certification preferred or willing to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Operates a variety of heavy machinery, including bulldozers, loaders, excavators, and haul trucks.
• Performs daily inspections of equipment and reports maintenance or safety issues.
• Loads and transports sand and other materials within the mine or to designated areas.
• Assists with stockpiling and loading materials for processing.
• Ensures consistent supply of raw materials to the plant for processing.
• Adheres to all safety protocols, PPE, and mine safety guidelines.
• Participates in safety meetings and training sessions.
• Monitors work areas to ensure a safe working environment for all team members.
• Assists in maintaining clear work areas and road accessibility.
• Helps manage the flow of trucks entering and exiting the mine.
• Collaborates with supervisors to meet production targets.
