Job summary

Magellan Federal - AFSC is seeking a Personal Financial Counselor to deliver counseling services to service members and families at military installations in Macon, GA. The role includes education sessions, budgeting support, and referrals, with DoD compliance and potential use of virtual counseling tools.

The position requires a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) with 3+ years of financial counseling experience, U.S. citizenship, fluency in English, and possible bilingual Spanish.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• May consider associates with 4 years' experience in lieu of bachelor's.
• 3+ years of financial counseling experience.
• Must be a U.S. citizen and fluent in English.
• If required by contract, bilingual in English and Spanish.
• Able to obtain a favorably adjudicated Tier 2 investigation.
• Must pass the OCI disclosures process.
• Must have AFC, CFP, or ChFC certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal financial counseling and management services to service members and families.
• Develop spending plans for extended absences.
• Create and distribute financial education materials.
• Coordinate and deliver Personal Financial Management classes/workshops.
• Conduct briefings and referrals as needed.
• Utilize virtual counseling tools when authorized for remote support.
• Keep leadership informed of trends and issues on installations.
• Participate in trainings and contract activities as assigned.
