Job summary

Magellan Federal is seeking a Personal Financial Counselor assigned to military installations to deliver comprehensive financial counseling and education. Responsibilities include one-on-one counseling, group workshops, and coordination with DoD and installation POCs to meet needs.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent combination of education and experience), 3+ years of counseling, U.S. citizenship, English fluency, and relevant AFC/CFP/ChFC certifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; may consider an associate degree plus 4 years’ experience in lieu.
• 3+ years of financial counseling experience.
• Must be a U.S. citizen and fluent in English; bilingual in English and Spanish if required by contract.
• Certifications: AFC, CFP, or ChFC as applicable.
• Ability to obtain a favorable Tier 2 investigation and pass required disclosures.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal financial counseling and management services to service members and families.
• Develop spending plans and financial materials; conduct classes/workshops and briefings.
• Coordinate with leadership and POCs to ensure program scope and needs are met.
• Utilize virtual or secure communication modes for counseling as required.
