Job summary

Magellan Federal seeks a Personal Financial Counselor to provide comprehensive financial counseling services to service members and their families at assigned military installations in Georgia. Responsibilities include one-on-one counseling, group workshops, and coordination with DoD points of contact to ensure program scope and impact.

Required are a Bachelor's degree, 3+ years of financial counseling, U.S. citizenship, fluency in English, and relevant certifications (AFC/ CFP/ ChFC).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 3+ years of financial counseling experience.
• Must be a U.S. citizen and speak fluent English.
• If required by the contract, bilingual in English and Spanish.
• Must be able to obtain a favorably adjudicated Tier 2 investigation.
• Must pass the Congressionally Mandated Disclosures for Organizational Conflicts of Interest (OCI) process.
• Must have one of the following certifications: AFC, CFP, or ChFC.

Responsibilities

• Provides personal financial counseling and management services directly to service members and their families.
• Assists service members in establishing a spending plan for extended absences.
• Develops and makes available informational financial materials to service members and families.
• Coordinates, publicizes and provides Personal Financial Management classes/workshops across the military lifecycle.
• Responds to requests for age-appropriate classes or seminars.
• Utilizes virtual counseling or secure online communications as required.
• Manages duty to warn situations per DoD protocol.
• Communicates with leadership and participates in supervision, sharing trends and issues.
• Participates in regular training, quality improvement committees or contract activities.
