Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a construction-focused MEP professional to support successful execution of building projects across sectors, with emphasis on healthcare. This on-site role verifies that MEP systems meet documents, design intent, codes, and WSP standards.

You will embed on-site with contractors and owners, coordinate with IORs and field staff, review RFIs, submittals, and change orders, and assist with QA/QC and commissioning activities. Strong CA code knowledge is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in a relevant field or equivalent construction experience.
• 7+ years building systems experience with construction administration.
• Experience reviewing construction docs, specs and submittals.
• Knowledge of MEP systems and applicable codes (CA Title 24, ASHRAE, NFPA, IBC).
• Experience coordinating with IORs, HCAI/OSHPD field staff, and contractors.

Responsibilities

• Provide mechanical and plumbing construction administration support through project lifecycle.
• Review RFIs, submittals, shop drawings and field reports for MEP systems.
• Maintain on-site presence with field observations and punch walks.
• Support issue resolution with contractors, IORs, and design teams.
• Review change orders and cost/schedule impact discussions.
• Coordinate with internal teams to resolve field conflicts and live healthcare constraints.
• Support commissioning, start-up reviews and close-out documentation.
• Assist QA/QC to ensure alignment with project documents and standards.
• Communicate professionally with clients and project stakeholders during meetings and site walks.
