Qualifications

• Strong working knowledge of Richmond, Virginia and surrounding service area.
• Identify and account for traffic, weather, and access restrictions affecting courier service.
• Proficient with Transportation Management Systems (TMS), dispatch software, and standard office tools.
• Multiple years of relevant experience in dispatcher, logistics, or fast-paced operations.
• Strong computer skills across several systems while monitoring activity.
• Ability to problem-solve, prioritize requests, and escalate issues appropriately.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with hospitals, customers, vendors, and leadership.
• On-site work in the Richmond, VA office.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and manage scheduled and on-demand courier runs during the shift.
• Schedule, coordinate, prioritize, and dispatch transportation requests to meet service timelines.
• Monitor the TMS for orders, status changes, delays, and completed deliveries.
• Communicate with hospitals, facilities, customers, couriers, and vendors to coordinate pickups/deliveries.
• Verify pickups, deliveries, and proof-of-delivery in the TMS.
• Provide delivery confirmations and required service information via email.
• Maintain professional communication among customers, hospitals, couriers, vendors, and internal teams.
• Identify delays or issues and coordinate solutions with couriers and management.
• Document dispatch activity, communications, and delivery statuses.
• Complete end-of-shift reports and provide a verbal handoff to the next shift.
