Job summary

Connect-Force is seeking a Mechanical Applications Engineer to join its Southeast Michigan team. This on-site, full-time role focuses on turning customer requirements into custom machinery, from early concept through proposal and quoting stages.

You will collaborate with mechanical, controls, sales, and manufacturing groups to deliver practical equipment solutions, estimate costs, and ensure alignment with customer expectations throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in mechanical/manufacturing engineering or related role.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, blueprints and specs.
• Experience with manufacturing processes, machining, automation, or custom equipment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Effective communication with customers and internal teams.

Responsibilities

• Review RFQs, technical specs, drawings, and manufacturing requirements.
• Develop technical proposals and quotations for custom machinery.
• Evaluate processes, machine capabilities, tooling, and production considerations.
• Collaborate with engineering, sales, and manufacturing teams on solutions.
• Estimate equipment costs, project requirements, and timelines.
• Identify technical challenges and propose efficiency and quality improvements.
• Clarify project specs with customers and internal stakeholders.
• Support preliminary equipment concepts and process development.
• Ensure proposals reflect technical requirements and scope.
• Participate in technical discussions throughout proposal and development.
