Job summary

Veeco Instruments Inc. in Beverly, MA is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support an advanced optical deposition system.

You will stand up and scale production, working on the production floor with assembly technicians to resolve real hardware issues and establish processes for scalable manufacturing. In this floor-first role, you will troubleshoot and define processes as production ramps, grow into a subject matter expert, and collaborate across Design Engineering, Quality, Field Service,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field is required.
• 3+ years in manufacturing engineering, sustaining engineering, or hardware support; 5+ years for senior candidates.
• Experience troubleshooting electromechanical hardware in production environments.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical & controls hardware during assembly, integration, and final test.
• Support early production builds and stabilize manufacturing workflows as programs scale.
• Lead root-cause investigations (Fishbone, 5 Why, 8D) and implement permanent corrective actions.
• Work across multiple tool configurations to adapt to changing build requirements.
• Develop and maintain assembly instructions, work instructions, and training materials.
• Execute engineering changes, deviations, and rework directives coordinating with planning and shop floor.
• Collaborate with Design Engineering, Quality, Field Service, and Supply Chain to improve manufacturability and product quality.
