Veeco Instruments Inc. in Beverly, MA, is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to stand up and scale production of our next-generation ion deposition platform. You will work hands-on with assembly technicians to resolve hardware challenges and prepare early builds for volume production.

This role offers high visibility, cross-functional collaboration, and the opportunity to become a SME as production ramps. You will help establish scalable processes, documentation, and ERP-driven quality

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related discipline with 7+ years of experience; or Master’s with 5+ years.
• Experience supporting manufacturing or production of complex electromechanical systems.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot hardware in a production environment and lead root-cause investigations.

Responsibilities

• Lead manufacturing scale-up for Veeco's advanced ion deposition system, driving production readiness through assembly, integration, final test, and early production builds across evolving system configurations.
• Establish scalable manufacturing processes, tooling, documentation, and production infrastructure while navigating ambiguity as volume increases.
• Triage and solve floor-level mechanical, electrical, controls, vacuum, and system integration issues using structured problem-solving methodologies.
• Collaborate with Design Engineering, Quality, Field Service, Supply Chain, and Operations to improve manufacturability and ramp.
• Drive continuous improvement using DFMA principles and ERP-driven data.
