Job summary

Greystar is seeking a Service Technician in San Mateo to perform routine heating, cooling, and plumbing tasks, diagnose issues, and complete maintenance requests to keep the property safe and functional.

The role requires 3–5 years of experience, OSHA safety awareness, and EPA refrigerant certifications. You will participate in on-call rotation, support make-ready tasks, and help maintain grounds and common areas across the community.

Qualifications

• Three to five years of maintenance or equivalent experience.
• EPA Type I/II or Universal refrigerant certification required.
• State and local licenses as required for service technicians.
• Valid driver’s license for on-site vehicle operation.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose defects and perform on-site repairs per policy and safety standards.
• Complete the make-ready process for vacant units and coordinate vendors.
• Manage materials and inventory, track usage and reordering.
• Document service requests accurately for tracking.
• Maintain grounds, clean common areas, and repaint as needed.
• Support cost-saving by repairing rather than replacing parts.
