Job summary

Mission Rock Residential is seeking an Assistant Service Manager to support the Service Manager and lead on-site maintenance to ensure property standards and compliance. You will diagnose issues, manage a maintenance team if applicable, and oversee repairs across HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and other systems.

Responsibilities include scheduling preventative tasks, inspecting units before/after moves, processing work orders, and coordinating with contractors for bids and project completion.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with federal fair housing laws and local housing provisions.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills; ability to relate to others and de-escalate tense situations.
• Knowledge of general property repairs (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, pool, carpentry, drywall, exterior structure, appliances).
• Exceptional organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to multi-task, delegate, and make quick decisions.
• Authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.; no visa sponsorship available.

Responsibilities

• Assist supervisor with managing the on-site maintenance team.
• Diagnose problems and perform repairs (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, pool, carpentry, drywall, exterior structure, appliances).
• Schedule, monitor, and perform preventative maintenance and apartment turns.
• Inspect apartments before and after move-ins and move-outs.
• Respond to work orders from residents and delegate to staff.
• Obtain bids from outside contractors and oversee their work.
