Responsibilities

• Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trucks or customer vehicles and secures with strapping or padding.
• Performs load-building, determining weight, composition, and placement for safe hauling.
• Reads work orders or follows instructions to identify materials to move.
• Conveys materials to storage or designated areas using hand trucks, electric dollies or forklifts.
• Opens containers and loads using hand tools.
• Attaches tags or labels to materials to ensure correct identification.
• Observes safety procedures to prevent injuries and may suggest safety improvements.
• Other duties may be assigned.
