Job summary

Alpha is seeking a Learning Coach to guide K‑3 students through app-based core learning and targeted literacy sessions. You will diagnose reading gaps, design short intervention sequences, and track progress while staying with students throughout the day from launch to close.

The role is full-time and on-site with relocation support. You will work with diverse campuses nationwide, bringing structured-literacy expertise and a data-driven approach to improve student outcomes.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years working directly with children ages 4–9: teaching, coaching, tutoring, camps, youth programs, or similar settings.
• At least 2 years of that experience teaching reading in grades K–3 within the last 5 years.
• Completed structured-literacy training: LETRS, IMSE, Orton-Gillingham, Wilson, Fundations, UFLI, CERI, Neuhaus, SIPPS, or equivalent; or a master’s in reading or literacy.
• Bachelor’s degree in any subject; teaching certificate not required.
• Comfortable spending about 70% of the day guiding students through app-based learning, workshops, and campus routines; ~30% on targeted reading sessions.
• Willing to work with all K‑3 students, not only struggling readers.
• Legally authorized to work in the US without visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Get every K-3 student to their daily learning goals and close reading gaps.
• Coaching students through app-based core learning, diagnosing gaps, and unblocking progress.
• Lead morning launch, life-skills workshops, and check-chart activities.
• Drive students toward weekly app goals using school currency, leaderboards, and gamification.
• Stay with students through lunch, recess, closing, and reading interventions with a proactive plan.
