Job summary

Reston Consulting Group is seeking a Lead Software Developer for a proposal effort in Silver Spring, MD. The role demands leadership across requirements analysis, software development, and systems integration at a government site.

Expect to work on end-to-end software acquisition, COTS/GOTS evaluations, and diverse technologies, including SQL databases, web apps, and cloud considerations. This is a 100% on-site engagement with background investigation requirements.

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship or Lawful Permanent Resident status and ability to successfully complete the required government background investigation.
• Demonstrated senior-level software development experience with technical leadership responsibilities.
• Strong knowledge of software architecture and the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Experience working in Agile software development environments.
• Experience with software testing, system integration, troubleshooting, deployment, and maintenance.
• Experience leading or providing technical oversight to software development teams.
• Experience gathering and analyzing technical and business requirements.
• Experience developing or supporting enterprise software applications.
• Experience working with relational database technologies.
• Ability to evaluate technical alternatives and provide recommendations to customers and leadership.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
• Ability to work 100% on-site in Silver Spring, Maryland

Responsibilities

• Lead and support a software development team responsible for developing, maintaining, enhancing, and supporting mission-critical applications.
• Assist with software development project planning, including scope, schedules, implementation activities, and technical deliverables.
• Design, develop, install, configure, upgrade, test, deploy, and maintain systems, software applications, websites, dashboards, and databases supporting customer operations.
• Develop clear coding and implementation plans and conduct preliminary testing.
• Provide technical leadership throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues affecting existing and newly developed applications and system configurations.
