Job summary

L3Harris Technologies in Canoga Park, CA seeks a Lead Mechanical Engineer to join the propulsion design team. You will drive development of high-pressure and extreme-temperature propulsion hardware including injectors, thrust chambers, tanks, manifolds, and piping, with supervision as needed.

Responsibilities include concept development, design packaging, tolerancing per ASME Y14.5, and coordination with manufacturing. A strong Creo/Windchill background and clearance eligibility are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field with 9+ years of relevant experience.
• In lieu of a degree, 13+ years of related experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop concepts for mechanical systems to meet propulsion requirements.
• Create components for high-pressure, extreme-environment applications.
• Prepare drawings with GD&T per ASME Y14.5.
• Coordinate with manufacturing for producibility and cost savings.
• Lead design staff or oversee designers as needed.
• Support testing and data reduction activities.
