Job summary

L3Harris Technologies is seeking a Specialist, Project and Component Engineer in Canoga Park, CA to support multiple phases of Pressurant and Propellant components and assist in propulsion system development. The role collaborates across engineering, operations, quality, and supply chain to ensure timely, within-budget component completion.

The candidate will analyze designs, verify performance, and help prepare test plans while maintaining interfaces with customers, vendors, and internal teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree plus 4+ years of relevant engineering experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance.
• Experience with rocket propulsion components is preferred.
• Experience with CAD/PLM tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Under general supervision, determine approaches to objectives demonstrating a complete understanding and application of engineering principles, concepts, and practices.
• Production and fabrication support system assemblies in rocket engine components; translate concepts from preliminary ideas through product life cycle.
• Coordinate with subject matter experts and multiple engineering disciplines to author and refine specifications, trade studies, design concepts, systems integration and component-level test plans.
• Work consists of making moderate enhancements or improvements to systems and processes to solve problems or improve effectiveness of job area.
• Up to 10% business travel to suppliers and other production sites.
