Job summary

L3Harris Technologies is seeking a Sr. Specialist, Mechanical Engineering for our Canoga Park, CA site. This role focuses on developing propulsion hardware components and systems to meet stringent performance and environmental requirements.

You will work with cross-functional teams to size and package mechanical assemblies, interpret engineering models, and release drawings using Windchill. Security clearance eligibility is required for this position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree with 6+ years of relevant experience; alternative qualifications listed in job posting.
• Experience in design and development of propulsion hardware (injectors, thrust chambers, tanks, manifolds, piping).
• Proficiency with Creo 3D CAD and Windchill PLM; knowledge of ASME Y14.5 standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop concepts for mechanical systems to meet customer propulsion requirements; perform preliminary design and packaging.
• Create mechanical components and higher-level systems for high-pressure, extreme-environment applications; perform tolerance studies.
• Prepare engineering drawings with GD&T per ASME Y14.5 and release drawings through Windchill.
• Contribute to testing, data reduction, and technical documentation; participate in design reviews.
• Coordinate with manufacturing and quality to ensure producibility and inspectability.
