Job summary

L3Harris Technologies in Canoga Park, CA is seeking a Sr. Specialist, Mechanical Engineering to design propulsion hardware including injectors, thrust chambers, tanks, and piping, delivering innovative solutions for high‑pressure and extreme‑temperature environments.

The role requires strong CAD skills (Creo) and PLM experience (Windchill), collaboration with cross‑functional teams, and the ability to obtain a US Secret clearance. 9/80 schedule with every other Friday off is offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 6+ years of relevant experience; MS with 4+ years; or 10 years with no degree.
• Preferred: aerospace/defense mechanical systems experience.
• Experience with liquid/gas pressurized propulsion components is a plus.
• Knowledge of ASME Y14.5 and CAD/PLM tools is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Develop concepts for mechanical propulsion systems to meet customer requirements.
• Create components for high-pressure, extreme-environment applications and perform tolerance studies.
• Prepare drawings with GD&T per ASME Y14.5 and release via Windchill.
• Support technical presentations and engineering reports for reviews and close-out documents.
• Participate in development testing and data reduction for validation and qualification.
• Coordinate with manufacturing and quality to ensure producibility and inspectability.
• Ability to obtain US Secret security clearance.
