Job summary

Placemakr seeks a Lead Maintenance Technician in Pittsburgh to oversee all aspects of property maintenance, including HVAC and general repairs, ensuring a safe and clean environment for residents and guests. The role involves hands-on engineering tasks, inventory management, and coordinating with the property leader and contractors.

The position requires flexibility to work weekdays, weekends, and holidays with a rotating schedule.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or commensurate experience in maintenance/engineering.
• Maintenance background in Class‑A residential buildings or hotels or similar operations.
• Ability to perform repairs from start to finish with minimal supervision.
• HVAC certification or related field preferred.
• Strong problem-solving and verbal/written communication skills.
• Well-developed multi-tasking, organizational, and time-management abilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist property leader in setting up engineering structures and back-end systems.
• Respond to work orders promptly and follow SOPs.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of mechanical and storage areas.
• Inspect equipment and prevent issues before they impact residents/guests.
• Execute preventive maintenance schedules and unit turns on time.
• Collaborate with front-of-house, Vendors, and contractors to ensure optimal operations.
• Manage workload in absence of Area Chief Engineer and delegate tasks.
• Oversee inventory of equipment and supplies with Area Chief Engineer.
• Support training of new maintenance staff as needed.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
