Job summary

The John Stewart Company is seeking a Lead Maintenance for an on-site multifamily property in California. The role oversees day-to-day maintenance and janitorial tasks, acting as a lead and role model for staff while performing preventative, emergency, cosmetic, and routine maintenance and inspections.

The position requires strong troubleshooting, time management, and customer service skills, with emphasis on safe work practices. A 2-bedroom on-site unit is available to the right candidate.

Qualifications

• Must have 5+ years of multi-family apartment maintenance experience or 3 years at journeyman level in building trades.
• Fluent English; basic math and computer skills.
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety procedures for housing.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and respond to work orders; coordinate with residents and management.
• Assist in safety trainings and inspections; repair plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
• Ensure projects meet deadlines; inspect work for quality and safety; operate according to codes.
