The John Stewart Company is seeking a maintenance professional for our apartment communities in California. The role emphasizes safe work practices, problem solving, and timely handling of work orders.

Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, unit turnovers, and coordinating vendor work with the Property Manager. Strong English communication and time management are essential; 2+ years of maintenance experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of maintenance experience in apartment communities or similar settings.
• Basic mathematical and computer skills; fluency in English.
• Knowledge of REAC and other regulatory inspections is a plus.
• Strong time management skills and safety focus.

Responsabilités

• Schedules and responds to work orders; follows up with residents and management.
• Maintains preventative maintenance scheduling and performance up to date.
• Conducts cosmetic and routine maintenance across the community.
• Handles unit turnovers and prepares for new move-ins; meets deadlines.
• Performs plumbing, electrical, mechanical, carpentry, and masonry repairs as needed.
• Coordinates, schedules, and oversees vendor work with Property Manager.
• Be on-call for off-shift and weekend emergencies; reliable transportation required.
• Good numerical and computer skills; effective communication in English; bilingual a plus.
