Job summary

Metric Geo in Dallas is seeking a Land Development Manager to own land development from groundbreaking to lot delivery. This boots-on-the-ground role requires daily on-site leadership, coordinating contractors, schedules, and budgets to keep milestones on target.

You will collaborate with civil engineers, municipalities, and utility providers, read civil plans, ensure safety and SWPPP compliance, and hand off finished lots to homebuilders on schedule.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in land development or site construction, ideally with a homebuilder or master-planned developer.
• Hands-on back-end construction experience: grading, utilities, paving.
• Proven ownership of projects from start to finish in the field.
• Strong contractor management, scheduling, and budgeting skills.
• Knowledge of DFW municipalities and permitting is preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret civil plans.
• Bachelor's degree in construction management or civil engineering preferred, or equivalent field experience.
• Valid driver's license; comfortable working on site daily.

Responsibilities

• Own land development projects on site from groundbreaking through final lot delivery.
• Oversee back-end construction: clearing, grading, earthwork, water, sewer, storm drainage, paving, and dry utilities.
• Manage, schedule, and hold accountable site contractors and subcontractors.
• Coordinate with civil engineers, municipalities, utility providers, and inspectors to keep permits, inspections, and approvals on track.
• Build and manage project schedules and budgets; track costs, change orders, and draws.
• Enforce safety, quality, and environmental compliance, including SWPPP.
• Resolve field issues quickly and report progress to leadership.
• Hand off finished lots to the homebuilding team on schedule.
