Job summary

Metric Geo in Dallas is seeking a Land Development Manager to own land development from groundbreaking to lot delivery. This boots-on-the-ground role requires daily on-site leadership, coordinating contractors, schedules, and budgets to keep milestones on target.

You will collaborate with civil engineers, municipalities, and utility providers, read civil plans, ensure safety and SWPPP compliance, and hand off finished lots to homebuilders on schedule.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years in land development or site construction, ideally with a homebuilder or master-planned developer.
  • Hands-on back-end construction experience: grading, utilities, paving.
  • Proven ownership of projects from start to finish in the field.
  • Strong contractor management, scheduling, and budgeting skills.
  • Knowledge of DFW municipalities and permitting is preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret civil plans.
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management or civil engineering preferred, or equivalent field experience.
  • Valid driver's license; comfortable working on site daily.

  • Build and manage project schedules and budgets; track costs, change orders, and draws.
  • Enforce safety, quality, and environmental compliance, including SWPPP.
  • Resolve field issues quickly and report progress to leadership.
  • Hand off finished lots to the homebuilding team on schedule.

Job description

Our client is a top national master-planned community developer: family-owned, with 60 years in business. They own the land, develop it, and build the homes, giving them full control over every community they create.

They are launching one of the largest master-planned communities in the DFW area, a multi-thousand-acre, multi-year development with thousands of homes, extensive amenities, and mixed-use space. It's a long-term project with room to grow alongside it.

Position Summary

The Land Development Manager owns land developement construction for the community from groundbreaking through buildout. This is a boots-on-the-ground role, based on site every day, not behind a desk.

You will lead site development projects from start to finish: managing contractors, schedules, and budgets, and making sure lots are delivered on time, on budget, and to standard. You'll be one of the first members of the company's Texas land team, with a direct hand in building it.

Key Responsibilities
