Job summary

American Vanguard Corporation is seeking an IT Support Specialist for our Axis, Alabama site. The role provides Level 2/3 end-user support, maintains workplace technology, and supports Windows, macOS, and Microsoft 365.

The position involves onsite work, collaboration with global IT teams, and occasional remote employee support on the East Coast. Responsibilities include desktop and network support, reporting tooling, ERP interactions, and incident management with emphasis on SLA adherence and

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or technical degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
5+ years of IT support, desktop support, or service desk roles
Advanced experience supporting end-user hardware and peripherals
Strong knowledge of WindowsOS, macOS, and Microsoft 365
Intermediate networking knowledge (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN)
Experience with Intune and identity/access management
Experience with ITSM tools (ServiceNow, Freshservice, Jira, Zendesk, Entra)
Excel, Power BI, and business reporting tools
Experience supporting ERP or business systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Dynamics)
Willingness to respond to urgent incidents and explain technical issues to non-technical users
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks under pressure
Strong sense of ownership and accountability
IT certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, ITIL Foundation are a plus

Responsibilities

End-User & Workplace Technology Support: Level 2/3 support for desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers and peripherals
Install, configure, and maintain Windows and macOS operating systems
Support Microsoft 365 services including Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, and SharePoint
Diagnose and resolve complex hardware, software, and performance issues
Network & Office Infrastructure Support: Troubleshoot LAN, Wi-Fi, VPN, and network-connected devices
Coordinate configuration of network devices with infrastructure teams
Serve as local IT contact during outages or incidents
Reporting & Business User Support: Provide advanced support to report users and troubleshoot reporting platforms
Assist with ERP/data teams to resolve data access issues
Support ERP/business systems and ensure timely resolution of operational issues
Incident, Problem & Request Management: Escalation point for incidents and recurring issues
Ensure incidents and requests meet SLA
Perform root-cause analysis and document solutions
Maintain technical documentation and knowledge base articles
User Access, Asset & Compliance Management: Manage Active Directory and 365 accounts, groups, permissions
Lead onboarding/offboarding IT on-site activities
Maintain IT asset inventory and lifecycle
Support audit, SOX compliance, IT policies
Leadership & Continuous Improvement: Participate in IT projects and technology refresh
Identify opportunities to improve support processes
Provide after-hours or on-call support for critical incidents
