Job summary

VetJobs is seeking an IT Service Desk Specialist in Greensboro, NC to provide on-site hardware/software support, trainee guidance, and asset management within a Global IT framework.

You will deploy and troubleshoot Windows and other devices, enforce standards, and collaborate with cross-functional teams on new service implementations. Strong communication and independence are essential.

Qualifications

• Qualifications in IT: e.g. A+, N+.
• Fundamental understanding of computers, networks, the internet, and productivity software.
• Knowledge of project life cycle management.
• Excellent communication, verbal and written.
• 5+ years in EUC role on a global support team.
• Experience with Jira and Manage Engine ServiceDesk Plus.
• Networking knowledge and desktop OS expertise.
• Familiarity with Windows/Mac/iPad environments.
• Understanding software/hardware troubleshooting and security basics.
• Capable of working independently while collaborating with teams.
• Strong MS Office skills and adaptability to fast-paced projects.

Responsibilities

• Work with IT resources to resolve complex Tier 1 escalations.
• Assist in new service projects and train Tier 1/2 teams.
• Deliver configured equipment during onboarding.
• Enforce hardware/software standards per Global IT policies.
• Procure hardware and software to meet needs.
• Manage IT assets in the Asset Management System.
• Help maintain IT knowledge bases and documentation.
• Image, deploy, and maintain HW including desktops and printers.
• Install and troubleshoot Windows OS (and Mac/iPad when required).
• Provide in-person and remote support as needed.
• Support the local data center; understand servers, VMware, network gear, storage.
