Job summary

Hamilton Business Technologies in Lincoln, NE is seeking a Help Desk / Level I IT Technician to join our on-site team. You will support business and retail clients with servers, PCs, printers, switches, and routers, delivering prompt, professional help desk service.

You will diagnose issues, install and configure equipment, document activity, and work with experienced teammates to resolve problems and prevent downtime.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of Windows, PC hardware and software, networks, routers, and servers.
• IT education, training, or coursework.
• Customer service or technical support experience from prior related work experience, school, or internships.
• Certifications such as CompTIA A+ or CCNA are welcome.
• Strong troubleshooting, communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to local client sites.

Responsibilities

• Assess client technology needs, diagnose issues, and recommend hardware, software, and network solutions.
• Install, configure, test, and maintain servers, workstations, operating systems, software, storage devices, routers, switches, printers, cabling, and related equipment.
• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, network, internet, malware, and user-related issues via phone, remote, and in-person support.
• Communicate solutions clearly, educate end users on preventive practices, and provide timely status updates.
• Document service activity and coordinate work with the help desk, network services, and other team members.
• Support client service needs by gathering information for quotes and assisting with front-office tasks as assigned.
