Job summary

Tufts University in Boston, MA (Health Sciences Campus) seeks an HVAC Mechanic I responsible for diagnosing, maintaining and repairing HVAC, heating and filtration equipment to keep campus facilities running efficiently.

The role includes servicing chillers and split systems, working regular hours with possible after-hours calls for emergencies, following SOPs, and maintaining CMMS records. A valid MA refrigeration license and CORI background checks are required.

Qualifications

• Must read and interpret blueprints.
• HVAC mechanic with at least 4 years licensed experience.
• Ability to read blueprints and work with CMMS/BAS systems.
• Must pass CORI/SORI background checks and driving checks.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, maintain, install and repair HVAC, heating and filtration equipment.
• Service chillers, package systems, split systems and related components.
• Follow SOPs and safety regulations; manage maintenance records in CMMS.
• Prepare daily parts and tool requirements; respond to emergencies as needed.
