Job summary

Tufts University is seeking an HVAC Mechanic I to diagnose and repair HVAC systems, including chillers and package units. You will support building operations across Medford campuses and participate in on-call calls for emergency or event coverage.

The role requires a high school diploma, 7+ years of experience (4+ in licensed HVAC), blueprint reading, and proficiency with BAS and CMMS tools. A comprehensive benefits package and bonus eligibility are offered.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED.
7+ years of relevant experienceincluding a minimum of 4-years of experience as a licensed HVAC technician.
Must be able to read and comprehend blueprints.
Must have working knowledge of computers in a Windows environment, BAS systems (JCI and Schneider helpful), and Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (MAXIMO helpful).
Certification in EPA/DEP and Massachusetts Refrigeration Technician License.

Responsibilities

Diagnose, maintain, install and repair HVAC equipment to ensure systems function effectively.
Experience with chillers, package systems and split systems for cooling and heating.
Work schedule may include on-call coverage for emergencies or events.
Maintain asset preventive maintenance and CMMS records.
Prepare parts and tools for daily activities.
