Job summary

Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory is hiring an HVAC Mechanic to perform installation, maintenance, and repair of air conditioning, heating, and ventilation systems in our Infrastructure Maintenance and Utilities Department. The role may be based at LLNL's main site or Site 300 in Tracy, CA, and requires full-time on-site presence.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship required to obtain DOE Q-level clearance.
• EPA Universal certification to handle refrigerants is required.
• Experience in HVAC/R installation, service and safety policies.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate, install, troubleshoot and maintain HVAC systems including large chillers and related components.
• Handle refrigerants per policy and safety procedures.
• Inspect boilers and piping related to HVAC and perform related repairs.
• Repair/replace pneumatic control lines and valves in HVAC systems.
• Provide testing, balancing and adjusting services per NEBB standards.
• Manage building conditions using energy/building management systems.
• Prepare standard reports and interact with technical and administrative staff.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
