Job summary

Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) in Livermore, CA, seeks a Boiler & Pressure Systems Mechanic II to install, operate, maintain, and repair boilers and related systems across LLNL facilities. This on-site role requires collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team in a fast-paced environment.

The position emphasizes journey-level boiler experience, strong troubleshooting, and adherence to ES&H and safety policies. A DOE Q-level clearance and US citizenship are required.

Qualifications

• Secure and maintain a U.S. DOE Q-level security clearance; U.S. citizenship required.
• High school diploma or GED; apprenticeship or equivalent journey- to advanced- level boiler experience.
• Extensive experience with hot water and steam boilers and related systems.
• Strong troubleshooting, maintenance, and basic PLC/electrical knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Perform journey-level boiler technician work on hot water and steam boilers and related systems.
• Install, operate, maintain, and repair boilers and related equipment using appropriate tools.
• Provide effective service and communicate with a multi-disciplinary team and ES&H staff.
• Analyze data and prepare logs, permits, deficiency forms, and maintenance requests.
• Use a computer and handheld device for work orders, time reporting, and training.
• Work scheduled and emergency overtime; follow ES&H and security policies.
