Job summary

Trane Italia is seeking an entry-level HVAC tester to support on-site lab operations in Tyler, TX. You will plan, set up, and execute testing according to approved plans, collect data, and provide input during test planning and design feedback.

Ideal candidates have 1+ year HVAC experience or a 2-year HVAC associate’s degree, plus basic electrical and refrigeration skills and the ability to follow standard work instructions while ensuring safety and quality in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 2-year HVAC Associate’s degree preferred. Minimum of 1-year HVAC certificate or other associate’s degree with at least 3 years HVAC service and installation experience.
• Basic Microsoft applications knowledge and strong attention to detail.
• Basic brazing and soldering skills with understanding of electrical/refrigeration basics.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate basic communication skills with peers and engineers.
• Plan, set up, and execute testing in accordance with approved test plan.
• Understand and follow standard work instructions with supervision.
• Collect and interpret test data, assuring validity and appropriate detail.
• Provide input during test planning stages.
• Provide design feedback during and after completion of testing.
• Demonstrate basic problem-solving.
• Increase technical skills and knowledge of Trane products and processes.
• Promote safety procedures to ensure personal and team safety in the lab.
• Maintain lab cleanliness and organization.
• Demonstrate flexibility to work in multiple areas.
• Support other testing and lab activities as needed.
