Job summary

Trane Technologies is seeking a hands-on technician to support product development in our on-site Davidson, NC campus. You will operate and test commercial HVAC equipment, collect data, and help build developmental units in a controlled laboratory setting.

Responsibilities include installing and modifying equipment per engineering and test requirements, collaborating with Test Engineering, and troubleshooting compressor systems.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree in HVAC (or related technical discipline) and at least 5-years of relevant HVAC or compressor work experience is required; OR at least 7-years of relevant HVAC or compressor experience is required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Outlook) required.
• EPA Type Universal Certification or willingness to become certified.

Responsibilities

• Operate commercial HVAC equipment and control test facilities to support product development.
• Install, modify, and build developmental HVAC equipment and components following engineering, agency, and test requirements.
• Work with Test Engineering to install and utilize laboratory test equipment including data acquisition systems and sensors.
• Independently troubleshoot and repair HVAC compressors and compressor test facilities.
