Job summary

Trane Technologies in Colorado is seeking an Engineering Test Technician to interpret test plans, run chillers, and document performance against requirements. You will read shop floor paperwork, set up test loops, and troubleshoot improperly operating equipment while maintaining safety and quality.

You'll work with control systems and data gathering tools, train others, and support customers with professional interactions.

Qualifications

Reading wiring diagrams and basic electronics concepts.
Understanding refrigeration, thermodynamics and fluids.
Good communication skills and customer-first attitude.
Willingness to coach others and share information.
Manual dexterity and experience with hand tools.
Familiarity with Windows operating environment.
Two-year technical degree preferred; alternatively relevant experience.

Responsibilities

Interpret test plans and conduct complex engineering testing with minimal supervision.
Read and understand shop floor paperwork (SEI’s).
Hook up, start and run chillers; determine if they meet performance requirements.
Use selection programs to determine fouling compensations and gather data.
Identify, troubleshoot, fix and document improperly operating chillers & test loops.
Interact with customers/agency representatives professionally.
Perform TPMs on all run stand systems and report suspect sensors/controls.
Maintain a safe, clean and orderly work area.
Train others on Engineering Test Technician duties.
