Job summary

UL Solutions is seeking an onsite HVAC technician in Plano, TX to set up and operate test equipment for client projects. The role includes building/adapting test setups, reading blueprints, following test plans, and documenting results.

The candidate should have HVAC training (or a 2-year degree), EPA certification, and strong mechanical/electrical aptitude. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to work shifts are required.

Qualifications

• Vocational training or 2-year degree in HVAC.
• Universal EPA certification.
• Prior HVAC installation, repair, or testing experience preferred.
• Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Ability to work one of the above shifts.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate equipment and test setups for clients.
• Build/adapt setup and test equipment for test performance.
• Read blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, instruments and instructions.
• Follow defined test plans and datasheets.
• Record and explain test results and complete test reports.
• Communicate with customers during setup and operation to ensure proper evaluation.
• Operate designated machines and laboratory equipment.
• Perform routine maintenance of test equipment and lab area.
• Initiate recommendations for new equipment designs and solutions to test problems.
• Report data to engineers and management.
