Job summary

Colgate University in Hamilton, NY is seeking an HVAC/Preventative Maintenance Technician to maintain and repair campus heating, cooling, and refrigeration systems. This on-site role requires diagnosing complex issues and coordinating with contractors.

The position supports building automation systems, BACnet and EcoStruxure, and involves working evenings, nights and weekends as needed. A valid driver’s license and EPA 608 certification are preferred at hire.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair HVAC/R and refrigeration components on campus.
• Read layouts, estimate materials and labor, order supplies.
• Coordinate with contractors and other trades.
• Maintain sensors, thermostats, controllers and BACnet/automation equipment.
• Ensure safe operations and proper PPE usage.
