Job summary

St. John Fisher University in Pittsford, NY, is seeking an HVAC Technician to maintain, operate and install campus heating, cooling, and ventilation systems.

The role includes oversight of pneumatic and DDC building automation controls and kitchen equipment, with inspections of contractor work to meet codes and specs. Requirements include an Associate degree or trade school training with at least four years in HVAC, NYS driver’s license, and EPA refrigeration handling certification (preferred).

Qualifications

• Associates Degree or two years of trade school training or equivalent experience plus a minimum of four years’ experience as an HVAC Technician.
• Pesticide license for cooling tower water treatment & EPA certification in refrigeration handling are preferred.
• Must have valid NYS driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance, operation and installation of heating, cooling, refrigerating and ventilating equipment on campus.
• Maintenance of pneumatic and DDC building automation control systems.
• Maintenance, operation and installation of kitchen equipment.
• Inspects work by outside contractors for codes and plans; ensures compliance with federal, state and local codes.
• Researches methods and materials required to complete tasks.
• Responds to routine and emergency repair calls; plans assigned projects.
• Assist other skill trades in daily activities and renovation projects.
