Job summary

Tri County Technical College is seeking a HVAC/Refrigeration technician to maintain and troubleshoot building systems across campus. The role includes preventive and emergency maintenance, testing components, and coordinating with vendors for repairs.

You will monitor building automation, respond to alarms, and support college events as needed, including night/weekend on-call rotations. This full-time position emphasizes safety, efficiency, and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Insalls, cleans and maintains HVAC and Refrigeration systems. Inspects and test HVAC and Refrigeration systems and components. Discusses heating or cooling system malfunctions with users to isolate problems or to verify that repairs corrected malfunctions.
• Repairs or replaces worn or defective parts. Recommends maintenance to improve system performance. Studies blueprints, design specifications, or manufacturers’ recommendations to ascertain the configuration of heating or cooling equipment components.
• Monitors direct digital control systems, running diagnostics, responding to system alarms, investigating and repairing technology problems.
• Uses EMS data to determine proper functioning of equipment.
• Provide skilled planned, preventive and emergency maintenance and repairs to all buildings, grounds, equipment, and fixtures for all College designated buildings.
• Effectively manage external venders in HVAC. Provide support to College events as needed, participates in rotational on-call night and weekend duty to handle emergency work requests, and available 24/7 for weather and utility emergencies.
