Job summary

Trane Technologies is seeking a field-based HVAC/Controls technician to start and commission new systems, diagnose and repair environmental-control systems at customer sites. You will apply electronics knowledge, direct digital control theory, and refrigeration concepts in diverse commercial settings.

You will serve as the on-site face of the company, coordinating with customers and team leaders to ensure precise requirements and timely completion, while maintaining safety.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; typically 3–5 years experience in HVAC/Controls.
• EPA Universal Certification preferred.
• Previous experience with DDC controls system preferred.
• Valid driver’s license for at least 12 months with clean record.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and handheld devices (smartphone/tablet).

Responsibilities

• Start and commission new systems; diagnose and repair environmental-control systems using electronics, direct digital control, and refrigeration theory.
• Serve as the direct customer contact on assigned projects; ensure customer satisfaction by identifying and repairing equipment on-site.
• Coordinate with team leader and customers to understand requirements for on-site installations and repairs, forecasting issues and gathering materials.
• Stay current on Trane products related to installation, operation, maintenance, service, and repair of DDC systems.
• Adhere to safety standards and manage company assets, maintaining security and accountability.
• Demonstrate flexibility to work overtime and occasional overnight stays as required.
• Perform electrical installation tasks including wire pulling and conduit bending.
