Job summary

Trane Technologies is seeking a field-based HVAC/Controls technician to start and commission systems, diagnose environmental-control equipment, and perform repairs at customer sites. You will be the direct company contact, ensuring customer satisfaction and timely system performance.

This role requires 3–5 years of Commercial HVAC/Controls experience, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to work at customer locations with safety as a priority.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; typically 3–5 years in Commercial HVAC/Controls.
• Operating knowledge of Microsoft Office and handheld devices (smartphone/tablet).
• Valid driver’s license for 12+ months with clean record; no major infractions in 3 years.
• Previous experience with DDC controls system preferred.
• EPA certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Start and commission new systems; diagnose and repair environmental-control systems.
• Serve as direct customer contact; service products and equipment at customer sites; ensure satisfaction.
• Coordinate with team leader and customer to understand requirements for on-site installation/repair; forecast issues and gather materials.
• Keep current on Trane products related to installation, operation, maintenance, service, and repair of direct digital control systems.
• Enforce safety standards and manage assets owned by the company; document usage and wear.
• Demonstrate teamwork by staying flexible for overtime and occasional overnight stays.
