Job summary

SOLV Energy is a leading provider of infrastructure services to the power industry, designing, building and maintaining utility scale solar, battery storage and high voltage substation projects nationwide. The Assistant Project Manager is responsible for overall support of HV construction/operation resulting in successful project execution.

This role is located full-time on a jobsite in Texas or Denver, CO and will require travel.

Qualifications

• 3-4 years of work related experience in design and/or construction of power substations.
• PMP certification, or direct relevant industry experience preferred, skilled with knowledge related to the construction and operation of the electrical equipment and installation.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills to work with others under all situations.
• Ability to work, analyze, troubleshoot and prioritize problems independently.
• Effective written and verbal English communication skills.
• Proficiency and knowledgeable in office practices, procedures and equipment.
• Strong organizational skills with ability to prioritize and coordinate.
• P6 scheduling experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and communicate Project Engineer responsibilities to achieve project success.
• Review agreements, interconnection requirements, contract requirements, system and facility studies for compliance.
• Assist in preparing HV budgets and forecasts.
• Develop subcontractor scopes of work and support subcontracting efforts with PM.
• Manage HV subcontractors (billings, RFIs, status reports, risk).
• Manage scope changes and participate in kickoff meetings.
• Handle RFIs, participate in utility and owner coordination meetings.
• Participate in SE team meetings and material procurement reviews.
• Schedule kickoff meetings on-site and assemble final completion punchlist.
• Collaborate with engineering on material procurement and maintain safe work practices in energized substations.
