Job summary

Day & Zimmermann is seeking an HR Generalist to provide on-site HR support for a complex, unionized government contract in Hawthorne, NV. You will independently handle routine HR matters, coordinate employment processes, and ensure accurate employee records in compliance with company, contract, and legal requirements.

The role works closely with the HR Manager and corporate HR teams, escalating complex employee-relations and labor issues as needed. This position is on site at Hawthorne, Nevada.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years HR experience in a generalist role.
• Experience supporting a unionized workforce or working with collective bargaining agreements preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a primary HR resource for employees and managers on inquiries involving policies, attendance, leave, benefits, performance processes, employment status, and workplace concerns.
• Manage routine employee-relations matters and support complex cases with the HR Manager.
• Process and document employment actions including hires, transfers, promotions, leaves, disciplinary actions, and separations.
• Coordinate recruiting and onboarding activities with Talent Acquisition and HR teams.
• Support day-to-day administration of collective bargaining agreements and labor-related requirements.
